Academic year 2018/2019 |
Supervisor: | doc. Ing. Josef Klement, CSc.
Supervising institute: | LÚ
Teaching language: | Czech
Aims of the course unit:
The objective of the course Aircraft Manufacture II is to inform of special technology methods used in advanced aircraft structures in the scope necessary for aircraft designers.
Learning outcomes and competences:
Students obtain knowledge necessary for evaluation of technological methods, design from technology point of view and for technology planning of joining, casting, machining, plexiglass forming, surface treatment and assembly.
Prerequisites: | ||||
Basic knowledge of the structure, phase transformations and properties of metal structural materials. Basic technological principles and methods of materials processing - welding, brazing, casting, machining.
Course contents: | ||||
Principles of special technological methods used in aircraft manufacture. Welding, brazing, adhesive bonding. Metallurgy and investment casting of aircraft materials. Machinability of aircraft materials and machining of typical aircraft parts. Orientation and forming of plexiglass. Aditive manufacturing. Surface treatment. Technological standpoints in aircraft design, manufacture set-up and aircraft assembly. Repair techniques.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Attendance at seminars and completing all papers is necessary for the course unit credit award. Final oral examination consists of two parts: 1. A practical task 2.Two theoretical questions
Controlled participation in lessons:
Attendance at seminars is compulsory. In the case of legitimate absence, student are required to work out an alternative individual assignment. Continuous checking is done during seminars.
