Rules for International Student Applications for Degree Studies
Conditions for study of international students
- Conditions are stipulated by Higher Education Act (Act No. 111/1998) especially by part 49/2 of the Act and by article 12 of the Statutes of Brno University of Technology.
- International students studying degree programmes in Czech are subjected to the same conditions as Czech nationals and shall not pay tuition fee (unless they exceed the standard duration of study plus one more year).
- Admission requirements are described by the Dean regulations (in Czech). Applicants are obliged to provide a certificate on successful examination in the Czech language at UJOP UK Prague or any other accredited language school or as a part of the secondary graduation examination in the Czech Republic or at any BUT language institute that teaches Czech as a foreign language.
- Students studying degree programmes in English are subjected adequately to the same conditions as Czech nationals and shall pay tuition fee.

Bachelor's Degree Studies in English
Tuition fee
- Tuition fee is 3 000 € per academic year. Students with excellent study results are awarded a scholarship for study results in the range 40 € – 120 € per month as early as in the second semester of the study.
Branch opening for study
A branch will be opened for degree study in English if
this branch is included in the list of English taught branches.
The information about branch opening will be sent to the applicants after May 31 as soon as all applications are processed.
Admission requirements
- strong motivation rationalized in a detailed covering letter
- completed secondary-school education with excellent results in mathematics or physics at the final examination (A-level) substantiated with documents
- the English language competence at level B1 or higher (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) substantiated with documents
Admission process
The period for submission of applications for Bachelor’s degree study in English is from January 1 to May 31.
Applicants are obliged to provide the following documents before deadline (postal address – see below):
- application form (electronic submission)
- detailed covering letter
- documents substantiating excellent results in mathematics or physics at secondary-school final exam (A-level)
- document confirming the payment of admission administrative fee 23 € or its direct payment by a credit card, or by a bank transfer to IBAN: SK45 7500 0000 0000 2569 5603, SWIFT (BIC) CEKOSKBX.
On the basis of the documents submitted, the admission process of individual applicants is continued to the second stage or stopped (the application is declined). Missing documents or their insufficient content may also be the reason for the application denial.
Applicants are informed about the decision via e-mail and via electronic application-form as soon as their applications are processed.
Applicants, whose admission process continues to the second stage, are obliged to provide the following documents before September 15:
- certificate on recognition of completed secondary education; this certificate is issued by the Czech regional authority
- certificate on successful examination in the English language at level B1 or higher (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or equivalent examination
Applicants who provide these documents in time are enrolled to study.

Master's Degree Studies in English
Tuition fee

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, applied physics, industrial design or related fields (depends on the branch of application) with excellent study results at Bachelor’s level substantiated with documents
- the English language competence at level B1 or higher (according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) substantiated with documents

- certificate on recognition of completed Bachelor's degree programme; this certificate can be issued by a public university in the Czech Republic that offers - in terms of content - similar study programmes, e.g. Brno University of Technology on the basis of the application form substantiated with officially recognized study documents translated into Czech (a diploma, a list of completed courses and their annotations) from the applicant's home university
- certificate on successful examination in the English language at level B1 or higher (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or equivalent examination
Applicants who provide these documents in time are enrolled to study.
