Manufacturing Technology I (FSI-2VT)

Academic year 2018/2019
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Milan Dvořák, CSc.
Supervising institute: ÚST all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:
The subject Production Technology I would enable the students to try practice some operations of single technologies on the base of which they would continuetheoretical knowlege during theier next bachelor of general type of study.
Learning outcomes and competences:
Students are acquainted with presented technologies and they acquire manual skills when doing single operations, which they use during their further studies when preparing experiments .
Prerequisites:
Knowledge of technological courses of the 1st year of study.
Course contents:
The course familiarizes students with the fundamentals of engineering technology and enables them to test practically individually selected operations.
a) technology of presswork of sheet metal with practical application of operations of shearing, punching and bending on given components.
b) technology of bulk forming with a view to free forging of material under heat using the operations of hot drawing, flattening and bending on given components.
c) technology of gas welding, inclusive of mastering the fundamentals and manipulation with welding torch.
d) technology of surface treatment with a view to corrosion prevention.
e) technology of casting oriented to the fabrication of elementary mould and complicated mould with complicated parting plane.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Course unit credit requirements:
- participation in the exercises

Classified credit will be in accordance with Article 12 and13 of the valid BUT Study and Examination Regulations.
The course is finalized with the course -unit credit.
It is classificated to the ECTS grading scale.
Controlled participation in lessons:
The missed lessons will be compensated in another groups` lessons based on the agreement with a competent teacher.
Attendance in exercises is compulsory.
The attendance to the seminar is regularly checked and the participation in the lesson is recorded.
Type of course unit:
Labs and studios  13 × 2 hrs. compulsory
