Building Information Models – Designing (FSI-ICA)

Academic year 2021/2022
Supervisor: prof. Ing. Josef Štětina, Ph.D.
Supervising institute: all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:
To deepen students' knowledge of working with CAD systems with a focus on BIM. To teach them to work with CAD in the field of construction drawings and HVAC. Particular emphasis is placed on design in CAD for the field of air conditioning and heating. They will also gain knowledge in the field of 3D modelling.
Learning outcomes and competences:
The student will learn to routinely work with AutoCAD REVIT, AutoCAD REVIT MEP, and CADKON / 2D and CADKON / MEP. The student will gain practical experience in the designer of heating and air conditioning.
Prerequisites:
Students are expected to have basic computer (OS Windows) skills, i.e. basic work with 2D CAD software, preferred software is AutoCAD.
Course contents:
The lectures provide the student with the knowledge of hardware and software, which is necessary for the computer design of heating and air-conditioning equipment. Workshops enable the student to practically test these systems via solving specific tasks.
CAD, together with more advanced software, is used to design heating and air-conditioning equipment.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Written test 10 questions (maximum 20 points) and project presentation 10 points. Submitted heating project in CAD with a calculation report (maximum points 70). Assessment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes: Course-unit credit is awarded on condition that at least 50 points are achieved
Controlled participation in lessons:
During the semester, work on the project is continuously monitored.
Type of course unit:
    Lecture  13 × 2 hrs. optionally
    Computer-assisted exercise  13 × 2 hrs. compulsory
Course curriculum:
