Heat Pumps (FSI-LTC)

Academic year 2021/2022
Supervisor: Ing. Jiří Hejčík, Ph.D.
Supervising institute: all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:
Students will acquire basic knowledge and skills necessary for operation and maintenance of cooling equipment and heat pumps. Completion of the course will provide students with a sufficient basis to pass the professional examinations required by current legislation for service and maintenance of heat pumps.
Learning outcomes and competences:
The student will learn to recognize the basic components of refrigerating equipment and heat pumps, to operate these equipment and to identify common operating conditions and failures.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of thermodynamics and electrical engineering.
Course contents:
The course deals with the construction of modern refrigeration systems and heat pumps. It focuses on not only the construction of individual components, their purpose and placement in a real device, but also on the operation and maintenance of heat pumps and related legislation.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through exercises which are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Credit is awarded for active participation in exercises and laboratory measurements
Controlled participation in lessons:
Participation in the exercises is voluntary.
Type of course unit:
