Academic year 2021/2022
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Jaroslav Štigler, Ph.D.
Supervising institute: all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:
The goal of this subject is to make students familiar with the basic of the design and operating of municipal water-treatment and waste-water treatment plants and waterworks.
Introduces the basics of the design of water treatment plants, waterworks and city waste water treatment plants is the goal
Learning outcomes and competences:
Knowledge of theory, simulation methods, of the basic approach to design, technology and operation of the water treatment and waste water treatment plants and waterworks.
Prerequisites:
Knowledge, during the previous courses of Hydromechanics and Pipe engineering obtained, is the pre-requisite.
Course contents:
Problems about water treatment becomes more and more acute. It is very difficult to find drinking water in the nature because the droughts and environmental pollution. The waste water treatment is also very important nowadays. We have to clean a waste water before returning it back to the nature.
Municipal waterworks and sewage works design - the basics of the waterworks and the municipal waste water treatment plants is presented as to range, scope, technologies, structure, operation, control, measurements and economy
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by given topics presentation in seminars.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Presence at the seminars. Given topics presentation on the seminars.
The examination is in written form.
Total classification is in accordance with the ECTS scale.
