Aircraft Structure and Systems I (FSI-CKS)

Academic year 2023/2024
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Jaroslav Juračka, Ph.D.
Supervising institute: all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:
The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge of aircraft systems so that they understand their function in terms of characteristics, reliability and safety of air traffic.
Learning outcomes and competences:
Students will gain knowledge and basic experience in the field of hydraulic and pneumatic systems of aircraft. Furthermore, about odmarazovací and fuel systems. This knowledge is necessary to successfully pass theoretical examinations for subsequent pilot training.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of physics and thermodynamics. Prerequisites and co-requisites Completion of DLT - Basics of aircraft design.
Course contents:
Aircraft control, requirements, control forces, means of relieving, balancing, warning devices.Hydraulic systems of aircraft, requirements, parameters of pressure energy transmission. Hydraulic pressure systems with pressure and flow control, working, backup and emergency systems. Elements of hydraulic systems, their operation, construction, parameters and characteristics. Air systems. Air conditioning systems, requirements, temperature and humidity control. Degassing systems, fuel.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Condition for granting the credit is 80% attendance at lectures. Absence hours can be replaced by independent study and independent processing of prescribed tasks. Graded course-unit credit is based on test results
Controlled participation in lessons:
If presence at lectures is less then 80%, students have to prove elaborated tasks and completed parts from missed lectures. Missed lectures can be compensated in a very limited extend by consultations with the lecturer.
Type of course unit:
    Lecture  13 × 2 hrs. optionally
