Aims of the course unit: | ||||
Students will acquire basic knowledge and implementation skill for using simple programmable logic controllers. | ||||
Learning outcomes and competences: | ||||
By completing the course, students will gain basic knowledge with the work and implementation of simple programmable logic controllers. |

Prerequisites: | ||||
Students are expected to have knowledge of automatic control and programming. | ||||
Course contents: | ||||
The course introduces the student to area of basics of programmable logic controllers (PLC), which are today an integral part of industry and non-industry automation. After the theoretical introduction the course is based on practical laboratory exercises which are realized in the institute’s laboratory. | ||||
Teaching methods and criteria: | ||||
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work. | ||||
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes: | ||||
Credit conditions: active participation in laboratory exercises. Design of configuration and program creation for thematic tasks. Basic knowledge test. |

Controlled participation in lessons: | ||||
Attendance at lectures is recommended, attendance at seminars is required. It is at the teacher's discretion to decide how to make up for missed seminars. | ||||
