Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps (FSI-0KT)

Academic year 2023/2024
Supervisor: Ing. Jiří Hejčík, Ph.D.
Supervising institute: all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with current trends in the design of refrigeration systems and heat pumps, the requirements for their operation and maintenance.
Learning outcomes and competences:
The course will provide students with the knowledge and skills associated with the operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems and heat pumps. The course provides students with a good background for passing the certification exam according to Commission Regulation (EC) 303/2008.
Prerequisites:
Physics, basics of electrical engineering, works with PC
Course contents:
The course deals with the construction of the modern refrigeration systems and heat pumps. It discusses the particular design of the individual components, their location in real devices and their influence on system behavior. It also addresses legislation, operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems and heat pumps, including safe handling of refrigerants.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through exercises which are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Credit is awarded for active participation in exercises and laboratory measurements.
Controlled participation in lessons:
Participation in the exercises is voluntary.
