Aims of the course unit:

The students’ acquaintance with basic engeneering methods of technological calculations, their application on examples of formed parts. The preparation of students for usage of knowledge when doing class and diploma projects,prospectively for higher grade of studies.

The ability of the independent creative attitude when solving basic and applied forming technologies. The ability to analyse forming process, adaptability for given conditions of technological preparation of production of forming parts in practice.

Prerequisites:

Knowledge of technological courses III. year of study in BUT Brno.

Course contents:

The working of productions technical preparation,the usage of engeneering methods for working out the technical documentation of production of the formed parts. The interconection of corresponding knowledge from the science about material, the theory of forming and individual solution of problems of forming. The application of knowledge on both basic and nonconventional technologies of forming in machinery-cold and hot flat and solid forming.

Course unit credit requirements:
- participation in the exercises,
- delivery of assigned papers.
The exam will be written and oral and the resulting classification will be in accordance with Article 12 paragraph 3 and Article 13, paragraphs 2 and 3, of the current BUT Study and Examination Regulations.
It is classificated to the ECTS grading scale.

Missed lessons will be compensated in alternative exercises by arrangement with the teacher.
Attendance in lectures is recommended.
Attendance in exercises is compulsory.
The attendance to the seminar is regularly checked and the participation in the lesson is recorded.

    Lecture

1. The meaning technology of forming for industrial practice.
2. The technology of the accurate cutting of material.
3. Special ways of materials’ parting.
4. The technology of bending and bordering of parts with complicated shape.
5. The technology of drawing of circular, angular, and irregular shaped parts.
6. The technology of hydromechanic drawing.
7. The technology of parts’ production in metal compression forcing way.
8. Raming the application of the theory of forming on technology of ramming.
9. The extrusion of steel and non-ferrous metals.
10. The die forging on hammers.
11. The die forging on crank and horizontal forging presses.
12. The technology of forging’s construction, warming.
13. The precision forging.

    Laboratory exercise

  1. The application of knowledge from the theory of forming when doing calculations for flat forming.

  2. The technological parametres of accurate cutting.

  3. The technological parametres of bending and roll bending.

  4. The technological parametres of rotary and generally shaped cups.

  5. The technological parametres with hydromechanic drawing.

  6. The technological parametres when bordering the openings in iron.

  7. The diagrams of the limit degrees of deformation and their application.

  8. The calculation of the forming power when ramming, the deformation degree.

  9. The working of technological basis for steel extrusion.

  10. The example of die forging on hammers, calculation of the forming work.

  11. The example of working of technological basis for forging presses.

  12. The technology of die forging on horizontal forging presses.

  13. The example of processing of the rough forging on forging rolls.
