Physics I (FSI-2F)

Academic year 1999/2000
Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Miroslav Liška, DrSc.
Supervising institute: ÚFI all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:

Learning outcomes and competences:

Prerequisites:

Course contents:
Students will be acquainted with the elementary laws and theories of classical physics so that they will be able to apply them in solving simple systems to elucidate and to predict their behaviour. The obtained knowledge is necessary to understand the theoretical fundamentals of modern engineering disciplines.
Classical mechanics. Motion of a particle (velocity, acceleration). Newton?s laws, motion of a particle in force fields. Work and energy (conservative and non-conservative forces, potential). Dynamics of systems formed by particles. Dynamics of a rotating body. Gravitational field.
Oscillations and waves. Harmonic oscillator. Progressive wave. Wave equation. Interference of waves. Geometrical and wave optics.
Thermodynamics. Heat and first principle of thermodynamics, entropy and second principle of thermodynamics.
Teaching methods and criteria:

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:

Controlled participation in lessons:
