Aims of the course unit: | ||||
The main objective of the course is to provide students with the theoretical foundations of welding technologies. Students will acquire knowledge necessary for a creative and complex solution of industrial applications. |

Basic knowledge of science of material, body mechanics and physics. |

Course contents: | ||||
The course deals with the following topics: Theoretical basis of welding - producing a weld joint. Description and theory of methods of fusion welding - flame welding, electric arc welding, plasma, electron beam and laser welding. Description and theory of methods of pressure welding - resistance welding, friction welding, diffusion welding, ultrasonic welding, cold pressure welding, explosive welding. Filler materials and welding devices. Weldability of materials. Producing a soldered joint. Thermal cutting. Basic knowlage destructive (DT) and non-destructive (NDT) welds testing. |

The examination has a written and an oral part, and the final classification will be in accordance with the Rules for Studies and Examinations. Course-unit credit requirements: participation in the exercises, delivery of assigned papers. |
