Programmable Controller Systems (PLC) (FSI-VPL)

Academic year 2021/2022
Supervisor: Ing. et Ing. Stanislav Lang, Ph.D.
Supervising institute: ÚAI all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:
Course objective: The main aim is to acquaint students with possibilities, which programmable logic controllers (PLC) show, with characterization of the single type and provide them detailed encompassment selected types. Students acquire graduation of course basic experience with works with programmable logic controllers. They are practically introduced with some types of programmable logic controllers and acquire general survey about next types. They will capable choose for concrete application suitable type of automata and make to him control program. The next aim is to acquaint students with principle and attributes of regulators with discontinuous output.
Learning outcomes and competences:
Obtained skills: Students acquire graduation of course basic experience with works with programmable logic controllers. They are practically introduced with some types of programmable logic controllers and acquire general survey about next types. They will capable choose for concrete application suitable type of automata and make to him control program. Next student acquire experience about using regulators with discontinuous output.
Prerequisites:
Students are expected to have knowledge of automatic control and programming.
Course contents:
The course is intended to deepen the knowledge of control equipments and to supplement it with regulators with discontinuous and impulsive outputs. Next is course focused on structure and parameters of programmable logic controllers, their configurations and possibility their programming. Programmable logic controllers are by one of the most often used items at present automation technique. We can tell that the most of the control systems do not without programmable logic controllers.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Course-unit credit requirements: Participation in seminars.
Examination requirements: Written exam related to the topics of the course. It includes elaboration of a program for the assigned problem.
Controlled participation in lessons:
Attendance at lectures is recommended, attendance at seminars is required. It is at the teacher's discretion to decide how to make up for missed seminars.
