Aims of the course unit: | ||||
The main target of the subject is to teach students so that they can obtain essential knowledge and terms in economy of design and development work connected with the product creation, economy of a company and its position on the market. | ||||
Learning outcomes and competences: | ||||
Students will know terminology which is used in company’s economy, they will know company’s processes and influences of technical activities (non material part) on company’s processes (non material part and material part), costs creation and influences of designing work on costs. The course is also aimed at tools which quantify effectively the idea about the product function, which is very often expressed verbally, and which take into account the costs aspect of a new product origination. | ||||
Prerequisites: | ||||
Secondary-school knowledge and skills, secondary-school economy, general view and knowledge, general designing knowledge, essential knowledge about building and design of machine tools. | ||||
Course contents: | ||||
Students are educated in the course about the system approach at the product creation considering the economic aspects, decision making tools and tools of the other, especially non technical disciplines leading to creation (design) of products with a high added value for a customer. The subject target is not to learn students business skills but to submit knowledge about selected economic, technical economic and marketing-strategic tools which can be really used in technical (designing and company’s) practice and business activities. To enable understanding of purposefulness of above mentioned tools in company’s practice, these tools and methods are taught related to company’s economy and market economy. The lectures are aimed at the integrated product development, company’s structure, company’s functions as well as at economy, assets and costs of a company. External aspects, if creating a product with a high added value – and there is no doubt that machine tools should be such products, and external aspects of the company’s functioning are the customer and generally the market. The course is completed with many practical examples resulting from company’s practice. | ||||
Teaching methods and criteria: | ||||
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. | ||||
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes: | ||||
Semester work. It is tested in the written form – written examination. Work and test according to the lecture syllabus. The common evaluation will be performed using the ECTS classification degrees based on the sum of points from the both parts. |
