Aims of the course unit:
The aim of this course is make students acquainted with rock properties and methods of their disintegration, choice of suitable machine for making earthworks. In addition it concerns with principles of earthwork machines operation according to their operation and service.
Learning outcomes and competences:
Students will be able to consider earth properties and use suitable machines and technologies for their disintegration and manipulation. They will be also able to operate and service earthwork machines according to safety precautions.
Prerequisites: | ||||
Students are required to have basic knowledge of physics, machine parts and their mechanism and physics of materials.
Course contents: | ||||
The course makes students acquainted with rock properties and classification by the exploitability, with methods of soil disintegration and proper usage of individual earthwork machines according to the earthwork type and extent. Besides, it deals with operating systems and checking elements of earthwork machines. This course is obligatory for students applying for the earthwork machines driving licence.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures. Part of the course can be excursions to the companies, which manufacture or operate the equipments from the thematic area of education. |
||||
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
The verification of the knowledge acquired in the course: Written exam followed by an oral exam proofreading. Excellent (90-100 points), very good (80-89 points), good (70-79 points), satisfactory (60-69 points), sufficient (50-59 points), failed (0-49 points) |
||||
