Tractors (FSI-QT)

Academic year 2022/2023
Supervisor: prof. Ing. František Bauer, CSc.
Supervising institute: ÚADI all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the useful properties of
tractors and how to achieve maximum efficiency
engine power transfer to the tractor's tractive power. The aim is to
understanding the relationship between the technical possibilities of tractors and
the possibilities of terramechanics with limit axle loads.

Learning outcomes and competences:

The course enables students to gain an overview of the current state of tractor design, in particular the functional transmission nodes
driving forces that are sorted under load, knowledge of hydrostatic
drives, control hydraulics, special linkages and other tractor operating equipment. This knowledge will enable more responsible
decision making on the selection, deployment and use of tractors in operation.

Prerequisites:

Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines and vehicle dynamics.

Links to other subjects:
compulsory co-requisite: Driving Mechanisms [QHL]

Course contents:
The subject introduces the construction of various functional tractor groups. The emphasis is laid upon the motional mechanics, the interaction with the field, the traction characteristics and the adhesion load of driving wheels as related to the limit load of the substrate. The subject evaluates various systems of transmitting the drive force of the tractor from the viewpoint of achieved efficiency and traction power, while showing the opportunities to increase the traction efficiency by way of the regulation hydraulics of a tractor.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:

Conditions for credit: active participation in the exercises. Retrieved from a minimum of 10 points (out of 30 possible) on the examination papers, the deadline of which is
The final examination is due at the beginning of the semester. Completion of fieldwork measurements and measurements on the test track.
Examination. The examination is oral and oral and oral.
The results of the control work in the exercises are included in the grading. and the student's knowledge in the examination.

Controlled participation in lessons:
Attendance in seminars is obligatory, checked by teacher. The way of implementation and compensation of absence is solved individually with subject guarantor.
