Aims of the course unit:
Summary of the design theory and design managing.
Learning outcomes and competences:
Basic knowledges about design organisation, design theory, form of evaluation, related legislative, economy and managing of design, marketing and application of acquired knowledges in the theory and practise.
Prerequisites:
The basic overview of both the theory and practice of design is assumed. The practical economics, and corporate and personal managements, as well as the work psychology experience is welcome.
Course contents:
The subject is based on individual study of design-management like the branch which qualify successful introducing of design into the production.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
On the base of own analysis projects given to consultations is verified general orientation in the theory and practical knowledge of both the design organisation and the design-management. Final work - the case-study. Combined written and oral examination.
Controlled participation in lessons:
The consultations are sattled individualy. The attendance in lectures is recommended.

Course curriculum:
    Lecture • Summary of the design theory, incl. ergonomy, design as the tool of bussines and production, design as lifestyle;
• International and home organizations and schools of design;
• Legislative interrelated with design, patent, industrial standard, copyright;
• Components of design in the marketing activity, company design strategy - design management and marketing, publicity and design;
• Organizing and managing of design work within the company;
• Skill of designer and work etics.
