Pedagogic activities

  • He is concerned with the theory and history of design, and the theory and practice of visual communications design at the Department of Industrial Design. He envisages the design as an art for the 21st Century, which incorporates all the segments of human culture: i. e. art, technique and science. He emphasizes an analysis of worked-in tasks, a harmony of all functions of design and a hold time of design.
  • He teaches subjects: Fundamentals of Design, Arts and Crafts, Type, Typography, and Workshops – Graphic Design, Diploma Project, etc.
  • He is a director of doctor level studies focused on the industrial design and visual communication design within the Constructional and Process Engineering specialization.

    The article describes 15 years of the Brno Biennale Association, which aim was to support directly the International Biennale of Graphic Design in Brno, organized by the Moravian Gallery in Brno in the beginning . One of the aims of the BBA was also a propagation of the "graphic design" field as well as a prezentation of the City of Brno in the World as an international centre of graphic design. It describes a history of the BBA, and the most important its organizational, publication, and exhibition activities (a. g. a cycle of the Brno - the Capital od Graphic Design exhibitions, or a co-ordination role of the BBA in the IBCC - International Biennales Coordination Committee). In spite of these actvities therea global development of the Graphic design subject is commented . The article is completed by a complete list of publications and exhibitions of the BBA in SBB 1993-2007.
