Aims of the course unit:

The aim of the Testing course is to acquaint students with the basic rules of management of state testing in the Czech Republic in accordance with the New Legislative Framework for the Marketing of Products.
Another objective is to introduce students to the State Professional Supervision of Safety of Dedicated Technical Equipment.
The third objective is to familiarise students with the basic rules of management of testing and calibration laboratories, as well as with the technical requirements for the services provided by laboratories.
The Testing course enables students to acquire knowledge in the field of conformity assessment of specified products, state professional supervision of safety of reserved technical equipment and in the field of testing, verification and calibration of measuring instruments.

Learning outcomes and competences:
 
Prerequisites:

Quality management systems. Applied statistics, methods for processing of measurement results. Basic terminology of metrology, technical standardization and statistics. Methods of statistical quality control.

Course contents:

The subject "Testing" will acquaint the students with EU regulations and the legal systém of the Czech Republic in the area of conformity assessment of specified products. Students will also comprehend the role of state technical inspection of safety of dedicated technical devices. Students will also be familiarized with systemic and practical rules of work in testing and calibration laboratories in a way, that can be practically applied.

Conditions for the award of confidential credit:
Preparation and defence of a term paper on the topic under discussion.
The degree of mastery of the subject is assessed by the teacher with the ECTS classification grade.
The examination course is taught in the form of lectures, no substitution of teaching is required.
