Aims of the course unit: | ||||
Students will get acquainted with the Minitab program, which is a tool for statistical and probability calculations. They will learn to use this software with broader capabilities than those required in the Mathematics IV course, enabling them to perform calculations necessary for semester projects. Furthermore, their knowledge of applying basic principles of probability and statistics will be expanded, including measurement system analysis, control charts, process capability, and non-parametric hypothesis tests. |

Knowledge of basic methods of descriptive statistics, probability theory and mathematical statistics is assumed. |

Course contents: | ||||
The course is intended as a computer support for students taking up course Mathematics IV. The main purpose of this course is to introduce statistics software Minitab, and expanding upon basic statisticall skills. The acquired pieces of knowledge can be used in semester and diploma projects. |
