Non-destructive Testing of Materials (FSI-WNZ)

Academic year 2026/2027
Supervisor: Ing. Martin Juliš, Ph.D.
Supervising institute: ÚMVI all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Course type: departmental course
Aims of the course unit:

The Non-Destructive Testing of Materials course provides students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of the basic methods of NDT testing and operational diagnostics of materials.

It provides students with the knowledge required for qualification grade I for NDT workers in non-destructive testing methods.
Upon completion of the exercises, students will have gained 20 hours of testing practice.

Learning outcomes and competences:

Prerequisites:

Course contents:

A description of non-destructive testing methods for materials and products, including their physical principles, in accordance with the ČSN EN ISO 9712 standard. Instrumentation in defectoscopy. Automation of testing operations.

Teaching methods and criteria:

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:

Conditions for obtaining credit: attendance at seminars and submission of all required laboratory exercise reports at an appropriate level of factual detail and graphics.
Examination: The examination tests knowledge primarily in written form on topics covered in lectures.
The oral exam serves to verify partial knowledge or, if necessary, correct the classification.
Attendance at lectures and exercises is compulsory. Absences will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Controlled participation in lessons:
