Reliability, Safety and Diagnostics of Technical Systems (FSI-RBD)

Academic year 2020/2021
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Róbert Jankových, CSc.
Supervising institute: ÚVSSR all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech
Aims of the course unit:
The objective of this subject is to familiarize with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of reliability, safety and diagnostics of technological systems.

Learning outcomes and competences:
In this sense, the students will acquire the comprehensive and complex knowledge in the field of reliability, safety and diagnostics of technological systems; this approach will help the students to engage in solving the different issues in industrial engineering and electro-technical engineering practice which relate to this topic.

Prerequisites:
Knowledge of mathematics and physics at the university level will be expected.

Course contents:
The subject is focused on the most advanced knowledge about reliability, safety and diagnostics of technological systems which are available in the engineering and electro-technical practice. Emphasis is laid on the principles of the reliability and safety assurance in the designing area, especially, the operation of the systems described above. Furthermore, attention is focused on the reliability indices of unrepaired and repaired objects, safety and reliability analysis, their procedures and the possibility of increasing reliability. Maintenance during operating technological systems is also discussed. The students will be also familiarized with the reliability tests, reliability information system, appropriate standards and valid legislation. Emphasis is also focused on analysis and description of technical diagnostics, including analysis of diagnostic signal, methods and means of its measurement and evaluation. The detailed description of the selected diagnostic methods is presented.

Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
The subject is given in the form of tutorials and lectures. Exercises are required.
The tutorial is completed by the credit. To receive the credit, the presence of 100% and the activity of students shall be required. The examination consists of a written test, and the students can obtain the score of up to 100. The test classification is set by the classification scale according to ECTS.

Controlled participation in lessons:
The presence of the students and their activity is checked in the tutorials.
