Aims of the course unit:
The aim of the course is to teach students how to prepare an oral and a written presentation of technical papers.
Learning outcomes and competences:
Experience of an oral and a written presentation of technical papers.
Prerequisites:
Students are supposed to have the knowledge acquired during the study related to the topic of their theses.
Course contents:
Each student is required to deliver a thirty-minute lecture dealing with his/her diploma project. He/she also presents the subject in a written form as a paper to be offered to a scientific journal.
Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through exercises which are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
Course-unit credit is conditional on 1. Active participation in the seminars. 2. Delivery of a lecture. 3. Working out a technical paper.
Controlled participation in lessons:
Attendance at seminars is obligatory and is checked by the tutor. Missed lessons may be compensated for by the agreement with the tutor.
Type of course unit:
    Exercise  13 × 2 hrs. compulsory                  
Course curriculum:
    Exercise The students are informed in detail about the requirements of both oral (30 minutes) and written forms of a scientific or technical paper.
Each student delivers a thirty minutes lecture dealing with his/her diploma project and the subject and the form of the lecture is immediately discussed at the seminar. The student treats the subject of the lecture also in the written form which is reviewed by the supervisor.
