Modern Access to Diagnostics and Working Life of Technical Systems (FSI-9MPD)

Academic year 2020/2021
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Róbert Jankových, CSc.
Supervising institute: ÚVSSR all courses guaranted by this institute
Teaching language: Czech or English
Aims of the course unit:
The objective of this course is the practical verification of the advanced methods in the diagnostics and the life estimate of technical systems in practical terms.

Learning outcomes and competences:
The students will familiarize with knowledge in the branch of the diagnostics and the life of technical systems, namely the methods based upon the artificial intelligence. In the framework of the subject, the students will learn to assess the life of technical equipment by using the modern method on the specific examples from technical practice.

Prerequisites:
To study this subject, the principles of diagnostics, reliability, life and artificial intelligence as the basic knowledge are recommended.

Course contents:
The subject is focused on the advanced approaches in the diagnostics of the life of technical systems. It is a follow-up to the basic theory of technical diagnostics, life and reliability. The basic knowledge is extended by the modern approaches, for example, theory of recognition, statistic methods of classification and especially the applications of neuron networks, fuzzy systems, fuzzy-neuron networks and expert systems in the diagnostics. Attention is also concentrated on technical prediction and its significance for the life estimate of technical systems. Teaching is completed with the specific cases of verification of the advanced approaches in the diagnostics of the life of selected technical systems.

Teaching methods and criteria:
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes:
The prescribed scope must be studied by the students to go in an examination. The examination consists of a written test, and the maximum scoring rate of this test is 100.
Controlled participation in lessons:
The subject consists of lectures and consultations, the students’ participation shall be checked.
