The article gives overview of complex aerodynamic optimization approach applied to business-jet aircraft wing design. In the frame of 6th EU FP integrated project CESAR [1] generic business-jet configuration was designed and diverse optimization techniques were applied to airfoil and wing design by members of project consortium. The authors explored particularly response surface method (RSM) potential for global wing aerodynamic optimization. The capability of method to support designer's decisions was assessed and attempt to incorporate basic structural criteria in aerodynamic optimization was made.

This article describes a CFD simulation methodology developed for simplified 2D model of SJ A and its evaluation for 3D model of SJA behaviour. The methodology is based on unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes CFD approach to simulate effect of SJA on external flow. Unsteady boundary conditions input was fine tuned to match published experimental results.

The paper describes design and manufacturing of flight data acquisition system with unique wireless sensor connection. The system is specially designed for small UAV aircraft flight performance measurement and mainly its aerodynamic parameters identification, but generally, applicable to any kind of in-flight measurements.
