The pump is designed for one optimal working point. In this point the pump is running very frequently. For wide range of discharge and for high efficiency without pulsations it possible to design the compromise solution by the help of distributor (different vanes).

In this article is introduced the sentence of an extension of operational zone of hydraulic machines. The problems of its extending is based on the design of non-uniform cascade. The non-uniform cascade is connected with other factors. The change of own frequency of the runner of a hydraulic machine and pressure pulsations. The suitable construction of non-uniform cascade is introduced on the results of computational simulation and experiment.

In the article is introduced the new type of the turbine – swirl turbine. This turbine is based on opposite principle than Kaplan turbine. Euler equation is satisfied in the form From this equation is seen, that inflow of liquid into the runner is without rotation and on the outflow is a rotation of liquid opposite of rotation of runner. This turbine is suitable for small head and large discharge. Some constructional variants of this turbine are introduced in the article and theoretical aspects regarding losses in the draft tube. The theory is followed by computational simulations in Fluent and experiments using laser Doppler anemometry.

The Francis Pump Turbine with Stochastic Blades

In the article are introduced a special hydraulic designs of pump Francis turbines. There are compared characteristics of classical pump Francis turbine and stochastic blade pumps Francis turbine. There are introduced pump Francis turbines with inserted splitter blades in the runner and pump Francis turbines with stochastic blade cascade.

The method of preliminary design of the basic runner parameters of the hydrodynamic submersible aerator is presented in this paper. The problem of these parameters design is in the fact that flow rate (discharge) of the liquid (water) flowing through the aerator is unknown. The discharge is crucial parameter for a runner design. Therefore some basic ideas and basic expressions which can help with a preliminary design of the runner are outlined in this paper. After setting of the basic parameters of the aerator runner, this problem chan continue with using some CFD code.
