Aims of the course unit: | ||||
The aim is to introduce students to the basic activities in the design of machine parts in CAD systems with applications of 3D, assemblies and surface models. |

Prerequisites: | ||||
Technical drawing, quotation, tolerancing. Basic knowledge of 2D/3D CAD. |

Course contents: | ||||
The course is an introduction to the CAD system with a focus on software working in 2D, 3D and surface modelling. It also deals with the hardware of the CAD system, the connection to data management and product lifecycle management systems PDM and PLM. |

Attendance in the exercises is compulsory and checked. It is allowed a maximum of two absences per semester. The course-unit credit is awarded according to attendance and submission of individual assignments in the exercises. Attendance in lectures is recommended. |
