Funding for the research and development at the FME comes from more sources: the Grant agency of the Czech Republic, the Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the Czech Republic Government Departments.
Academic staff and doctoral student create the research teams solving the basic and application research problems. Some of them were awarded by known home awards such as the Czech Head, and the Award of the Ministry of School and Education.
Traditionally the researchers of the FME collaborate with many partners form industry in solving particular projects.
NETME Centre – in full name New Technologies for Mechanical Engineering – is designed as a regional research and development centre based on a high-quality scientific and research background of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The major strength of the Centre lies in its capability to organize a multidisciplinary research teams and subjects of over five hundred Faculty members.
Centre activities are designed to develop cooperation with the application and business sphere and to strengthen the competitiveness of the region to participate in developing the economy knowledge of the region and to allow flexible access of private subjects to the latest research results on contract basis, to ensure maximal application potential.
