Topic of doctoral theses

Development of high stable and high-performance magnetorheological fluid

Supervisor: doc. Ing. Ivan Mazůrek, CSc.
Specialist: Ing. Jakub Roupec, Ph.D.
Description:
The aim is to synthesize in cooperation with INHA University and Chemistry Faculty on BUT a magnetorheological fluid with high sedimentation stability and high MR effect with respect to future application in railway and automotive transportation and space applications. This thesis has an experimental character extending the possibility of application of magnetorheological damper in industry practise. For experiments, the unique slit-flow rheometer and a device for measurement of sedimentation rate will be used. In this thesis, the recent knowledge in the field of monodisperse and bidisperse MR fluid and the field of Non-Newtonian fluid with initial yield stress will be used. This thesis also includes an analysis of MR fluid response time, which affects the speed of MR fluid activation.
